Everyone Is Entitled to a Bad Day
When you’re having a bad day you can choose to be miserable, or you can do something about it. Sometimes the only or best thing to do is take a mental and physical break from the stress.
When I am having a “Nope-Not-Today” kind of day, I have two fun go-to distractions.
- Watch bloopers. Between Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube, there are plenty of video clip bloopers to be found of actors, news reporters and anchors who have flubbed lines and laughed uncontrollably. Laughter is contagious and you’ll find yourself laughing right along with them and forgetting whatever was troubling you. It also shows that even the most polished professionals also have bad days.
- Find your nearest entertainment venue with go-karts. As long as you’re in decent health, you’re never too old for go-carts. That’s exactly what my two adult daughters and I did this afternoon. My youngest is leaving for college this weekend, and I’m not looking forward to being a single empty-nester. It was an excellent opportunity to let our hair down, put the pedal to the metal and zip around the track at safe high rates of speed. Nothing like fresh air, laughing, and screaming like a school girl to cure what ails ‘ya, at least temporarily.
What’s your go-to distraction when you’re having a bad day?
