Top 3 Reasons Why Scentsy Makes Sense for Men
If you are of the mindset that selling candles, diffusers and oils is women’s work, think again! It is true that women make up the brunt of direct sellers but it’s definitely not gender exclusive.
Many men in direct sales are earning a substantial supplemental (or more) income.
Fellas – hear me out. Just hold up a minute with that “I’m not peddling any sissy girlie stuff” attitude. Consider why it’s such a viable option for manly men.
1. It Works With Your Existing Schedule
You’re already putting in 40+ hours at the office or on the site. You work hard to support your family or dig yourself out of financial struggles. Leaving one full time job to go work a second part time job is one of the last things you want to do; but you do what you gotta do, right? With Scentsy you work the business when it’s convenient to you. If your regular gig keeps you on the road commuting to and from work or in between appointments, that’s an opportune time to work in phone calls and make contacts. While you’re tuning into your favorite sporting game, you can also multi-task by doing a little Internet Marketing to let your online community know what you’re offering. Doesn’t that sound better than 14+ hour days working a second job?
2. Most Men Aren’t Natural Gift Givers
Birthday, Anniversary, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Sweetest Day (3rd Sat. in October, BTW) – you pick. Many men dread the idea of [Read more…] about Top 3 Reasons Why Scentsy Makes Sense for Men
Trust is Good but Information Must Be Accurate
When I worked for the Federal Government we had a saying, “In God we trust. All others bring data.” Other parts of the conversations included “Bring me the source document.” “Where does it say that?” “What does the policy say?”
The same verification standards should also apply to any business, including all Scentsy Independent Consultants.
Show Me.
Your sponsor and upline are there to support, encourage, mentor, coach, point in the right direction and sometimes just to listen. Your upline is not to serve as a substitute for written documentation which you have at your fingertips.
You signed a written, likely electronic, agreement and you likely have a copy of your policies and procedures and compensation available to you. You probably also have a Training Center of some sort, and a Resource library. Use them. See what it says in writing.
When you’re starting out you’re not expected to know all the policies and compensation and other procedural information. It’s not even realistic that when starting out you’ll even know where to look for some of the information. That’s where your upline comes in. Follow Up Will Make or Break Your Business
About eight years ago I bought some product from a vendor at a women’s expo. I have repurchased only a couple of times since then, since I stock up when I buy. The reason I made repurchases is because she calls me about twice a year.
She just left a voice mail message, “Hey Laurie, It’s …, calling from … checking in, seeing how you’re doing on your supply. If you’re ready for more give me a call for the current specials. My number is …. All right, talk to you soon, bye.”
It’s that simple. Whether I answered the phone or she left a voice mail, she had very little time invested in that call. She knew since I bought from her before, there was a chance I’d buy again.
Pick up the phone! Follow up with previous customers. If you have fear of the phone, feel the fear and do it anyway. Don’t have time? Make time. It’s a simple, easy tactic to get sales. I suspect she was working her way through a list, and will likely end her day with a number of new sales.
Start dialing, then let me know your results.
