My Head is Going to Explode

My head is going to explodeI’ve been working on the backside of WordPress all morning and now I think my head is going to explode.

I have used WordPress for my blog for more than a decade.  I am very much a plug and play person. Except now I am trying to do all the coding and programming myself and it’s pretty much gibberish to me.

You should see all the tabs I have open right now, both literally and figuratively. I’m trying to use The Googles to help me figure out how to do things. Yet WordPress updates often therefore I need to make sure I am reading only the most current helps.

Blog Post Every Day?

You may have you noticed it seems like someone lit a fire under my butt and that I’m blogging every stinkin’ day in July.

That is true. That someone is me.

I got out of the habit of creating regular blog posts on here and my traffic suffered because of it. So I’m going back to basics. But I’m doing so with a vengeance so I can create a new habit.

I’m also challenging myself and holding myself accountable to the 30-day commitment I made to myself. And it has to be a post that I put thought into. I’m not going to just slap up a graphic and call it good – unless it’s so poignant that no editorial is needed. Besides, I like to write too much to just pop up a picture and call it a blog post.

I’ve scheduled a few posts for when I will be at Scentsy’s annual convention later this month. However for the most part, I like to write daily based on whatever is happening or whatever I come across in my life that would make a good post.

We had a doozy of a storm last night therefore much of my surrounding area is unplugged. I’m fortunate that my electric is back on, but we still don’t have any internet or TV channels.

Book Recommendation: Million Dollar Maverick – Forge Your Own Path to Think Differently, Act Decisively, and Succeed Quickly by Alan Weiss, PhDMillion Dollar Maverick, Alan Weiss

I am reading a book right now that I think EVERY entrepreneur should read. I’m not done reading it, yet I wanted to share it with you right away. I checked out a copy from my local library and I will be purchasing it for my personal library.

This book contains ten chapters on being different to stand out, losing the fear of failure, gaining influence, critical thinking skills, improving self-esteem, understand the difference between pain and suffering, control over our careers and being shameless in taking credits, effective use of language for business and life, examples of innovations such as “perpetual motion attraction machines”, and feeling comfortable in your own skin (e.g., no guilt, no fear).You can read other reviews of this book here.

Why I Love This Book

I love Million Dollar Maverick because it stresses the point to stand out, to be different from all the others, and do it without fear. In direct sales, I see so very many independent consultants who aren’t acting very independent.  They’re part of the herd. Those who separate themselves from the pack are realizing amazing success.

If you only read one book this year, let it be this one. It’s also available in audio if you prefer that medium.

Who Are You Attracting?

Like attracts like. What kind of people are you attracting into your circle?

If you’re becoming increasingly frustrated with people, either via social media or in your offline life, chances are you may need to make some adjustments in who you are exposing yourself to. (I still giggle every time I say ‘expose yourself’ – I guess because I’m 12).

Winners attract winners.
Whiners attract whiners.
Positive attracts positive.
Negative attracts negative.
Are you a positive winner? Or a negative whiner?

This topic has been on my mind a lot lately. Positive people practically break out in hives when they’re around whiners. And likewise, negative people don’t want to hang out with Suzy sunshine.

This morning I saw the above Winners attract winners … come through in my LinkedIn feed, posted by one of my local associates. I took it as a sign that I was supposed to blog about it.
