This is a post I’ve wanted to write for some time now.
I haven’t though for concern it would come off bitchy. No one likes a bitch.
However, it needs to be said. I’ll try to make it a Fluff Sandwich, lest anyone get offended.
In my circle, we have a motto. It’s RPR! I don’t use exclamation points often, but RPR! has one.
RPR! Stands for Read, People, Read!
If you want to save time trying to figure out how to do something, who do call, what order something needs to be done, and to do so as quickly as possible – read people, read.
I’m not talking about extensive instructions or manuals. I get that some people don’t have patience for that – self included sometimes.
Rather I’m talking about social media posts or in some cases, short blog posts. Here are instructions how to make your life easier; essentially here are the answers to the test – right here. You just need to read it.
Prime example:
I have a blog post called What to Do If Your Warmer Stops Working. It gets a decent amount of traffic. I briefly explain some quick fixes, then in bold red font in the middle of the page, it says if you did all that and it still doesn’t work, contact our customer service department and I’ve even provided them the phone number.
Yet on a weekly basis, I still get people who leave a comment on that specific blog post, so I know they’ve found the solution, telling me that their Scentsy warmer stopped working and asking what should they do.
RPR! That’s what they should do.
I don’t know how I can spell it out any more clearly. It’s not technical jargon. It’s not a lengthy manual. It’s one brief blog post giving them solutions and the phone number of who to call.
We are all busy. We all have multiple things on our plate at once. That is the reason I wrote that blog post, so they can quickly and easily find what needs to be done. It’s a time saving tip – for everyone.
I get that life happens and sometimes we are so distracted, sometimes with a crisis in our life. I get that. The reason I even bring this issue up is because it happens regularly. It’s not an anomaly.
Please just slow down, take a breath, a carve out seconds to merely read, people, read! I think you’ll find it will save you time.
Ironic isn’t it, that likely the people who need this post the most won’t be the ones reading it?
